Last month, we went on a long weekend vacation to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. It was the second weekend in September and since it’s in the mountains, the weather cools off much quicker there. We were not too sure what to pack to wear but we made sure to bring layers with other basic summer clothing.  The days wound up being sunny and got to the mid 70’s and the evenings and early mornings were in the low 50’s. The outfits I wore can easily be used for great early Fall weather when there are days that still have very warm (sometimes even hot) sunshine and then also days or evenings when things get a little cooler or if any cool wind picks up.

Rancher Hat

I brought my tan, felt, wide brim rancher hat that I’ve had for a couple years now and it came in handy basically every day. It not only added to my outfits, but it kept the sun out of my face and added just a bit of warmth when the sun would start to go down.

Shacket

Technically this is just an oversized, thicker plaid flannel but it can double as a shacket for those inbetween temps! It is so soft and so cozy without being too overly hot.

Wine Tasting Outfit

The day we went wine tasting got to the mid 70’s and was pure sunshine. We got to the wine tasting around 2 so depending how long we were going to stay it could cool off. I opted for my favorite straight leg Agolde Riley jeans, and a simple ribbed cropped tank from Skims. Topped it with my wide brim hat and some comfortable Tkees flip flops and that was it! Super simple, comfortable for the weather, a little fall with a little summer, and a great go-to outfit.

Happy Hour Outfit

We went out to happy hour on the lake one afternoon and it was the hottest day we were there. It got to almost 80 and the sun stayed super hot all day. I brought my plaid shacket just in case it cooled off quick but it never did. I was super comfortable just wearing my go to Agolde denim shorts and a ribbed bikini top from Tan+Lines.

That evening, we actually continued happy hour at the lake house with a little picnic on the dock. All I did was throw a chunky knit sweater over my bikini top instead of my shacket and threw on my rancher hat.

Loungeweaer and Workout Clothes

I mainly wore loungewear, athleisure wear, or workout clothes during out visit and most of them are my tried and true pieces. When we walked through Swallow Falls, I wore a Lululemon half zip sweatshirt, tank, and shorts with my Adidas boost sneakers. During morning walks and coffee time on the dock, I wore my Vuori joggers paired with either my Lululemon tank or some sweatshirt and sneakers or my APL slides.
