I am sure you are sick of hearing about quarantine but the fact is, it happened and it lasted a fair amount of time. Our state was shut down mid-March and our stay at home order was just lifted a week or so ago in June. In the beginning I wanted to get all cozy, comfy lounging clothes but after a month or so of miserable, damp winter weather, I needed some summer in my life. I began buying some summer clothes rather than lounge clothes and am so excited with what I got so I figured I’d try them all on and show ya!
I purchased a white short sleeve body suit from Abercrombie over the winter and with no exaggeration, it was the best body suit I’ve ever purchased. I saw that this brown/nude color version was on sale so one picked up! I have both the white and brown in an xs and they fit perfectly.

While I was browsing Abercrombie, I also purchased a few more pieces. Sandals, a tie cami, and even a chunky sweater. You may be thinking a sweater for a summer clothing haul??? Well it’s because the AC blasts in my office and I’m always freezing (hello, corporate life) and I love having a cool looking piece to throw on if it does get chilly when we are out at night since we live at the beach.  You can even wear it just by itself which is seriously so comfy. I originally purchased it in the cream color and just purchased the light brown one this week because I love it so much! (Both in xs) My Agolde denim shorts are also my go-to and are definitely worth the price. I got them in a 23 and roll them up to elongate my legs a bit more.

The tie cami is such an elevated basic look. I got it in an xs but I could have gone down to an xxs because the sides under the arms are actually pretty wide even after tying the ties tighter. The two sandals I picked up were both size 6/7 and slightly different styles. The black slides are super comfortable and don’t need any breaking in. The nude flip flops are tighter around the top of the foot so they may need some breaking in but they also feel like they just may not be the best fit overall. These are old Mother Denim jeans but are one of my absolute favorites! They are The Rascal crop.

I had a bachelorette party at the end of September (now rescheduled to February) so I when I saw this top I knew I would get a lot of use out of it. It actually has the option to attached thin straps in the same green material or you can wear it strapless. It zippers in the back and has a small section on the bottom that stays open. It was an instant YES when I tried it on. It’s unfortunately sold out on Revolve already, but there is a similar Lovers + Friends dress that is to die for and some other options that could get just as much use!

Ok, now let’s talk summer dresses! I am not really a dress person but I try to be because I love how summer dresses look and how effortless yet statement making they are. Being short, dresses are actually a hard item to find that fits perfectly. Most mini dresses are too long and make me look even shorter/frumpy, maxi dresses are so long that I trip and hemming is nottt cheap, and midi dresses are basically just maxi dresses so it defeats the purpose. Even though I run into these issues every time I buy dresses, I somehow ‘forget’ and buy them anyway. Luckily I bought two that were actually perfect. The first from Free People is a thicker material and the second from Urban Outfitters is a lighter, slightly silky material. Free People seems to always run large for me so I ordered an xs and just have to tie the back tie tight. It is a midi dress so it’s meant to hit at your calves but it hits right at my ankles. I got the Urban dress in an XS and it’s also a perfect fit. The length was again meant to be a midi dress but it hits right at my ankles.
